| The AJPI (ARES J-REIT Property Index) is a Japanese real estate investment index calculated using data on the real estate owned by J-REITs (Japan Real Estate Investment Trusts). Since J-REITs tend to invest in core real estate of high quality which can be expected to yield stable profits, the AJPI, which is calculated from the actual cash flows and appraisal values of these real estate holdings, is one of Japan’s leading domestic real estate investment indices and is of an adequate standard for use by institutional investors worldwide. A major distinctive feature is that the index adopts a method based on the NCREIF Property Index (NPI), widely used in the U.S., to calculate the return on individual property and thus employs techniques in touch with the global standard.
